Topic Presentations- Aidamary Pulido

 In this project each group was assigned a topic and they would have to create a presentation explaining to the class about the topic. The topics given were Climate Change, Infrastructure, and Gender Inequality. All those topics are topics that are controversial. Many people find themselves not knowing much about those topics and these presentations truly helped gain the better understanding. Group 3 started first which is my group. We had the topic Climate Change. We spoke about the causes and the effects of climate change. Climate Change is an extremely big issue for our planet today. It affects everything of our planet and the ones causing it are humans. Humans are also the ones that have the ability to fix the effects and reduce them. We split the work in between all of us in the group. We each did our research and inputted it to the slides. We split the topics what is climate change, what causes it, how it effects, technology around it, and solutions to resolve climate change as well as organizations that step up to reduce it. Since our topic is such a grand issue that needs so much attention, we even contacted associations that dedicate their time to helping make a change to better our planet. I personally think that our presentation was very informative and it went smoothly I hope that we brought awareness and showed the importance climate change plays in our life. Group 1 topic was about Infrastructure. I personally wasn’t very familiar with infrastructure and how it has an impact all around the world. Infrastructure is the fundamental structures and facilities that help a society function. Examples of infrastructure include buildings, roads, and power supplies. Billions of dollars are given to fund new construction projects and to find new technologies. Infrastructure includes anything from technology to transportation. A big issue we face in infrastructure with technology are hacking. As time goes by that more and more technology advance it is becoming a very big issue. Most new cars are either going fully electric or hybrid. This means that there will eventually need to be as many charging stations as there is gas stations. Group 2 choose the topic of gender inequality. Gender inequality is very big issue. This issue has even resulted in many victims losing their life or experiencing traumatic events due to other not seeing them as equal or right to fit in our community. I personally believe that everyone has a right to be whoever they want to be and to express themselves freely without having to live every day in fear of what someone might to do them because they don’t share the same beliefs as them.  Gender inequality also includes when for example there are work places that pay more to the men than they do to women. Also, there are many people that think women are not equal to men and that they cannot do the same jobs or have the same responsibilities as men. This is completely un true men and women should be equal and women should be able to pick what they want to do and do it without anybody to tell them otherwise. I do not agree with the statement there is a man's profession and there is womans profession I also do not agree with that woman have roles and the men have roles. I think that everybody should help each other equally and woman and men should be able to work together and be taken just as serious in any profession they choose. Group two provided us with some helpful solutions to gender inequality. The first and most important is to stand up for your rights. The second is to raise awareness and protest about the situation. Finally, be a role model to others. Don’t follow the social norms, instead, fight for what you believe is right. I think it is extremely important for everyone to have an understanding and truly know what going on around us in this world because we are the only ones that have the ability to truly make a change and to set the foundation for the future and how things are done and how long we make it on this planet. I really think that this method of creating presentations is the most effective way to learn. I find it that every time we get assigned a new project that I need to go to research I always find myself gaining more knowledge of the topic by watching videos and getting information to put on the slides. I think I pay more attention to the presentations of other students because they are not just reading basic information from a book, they are using videos and pictures and important points to teach you about the topic. I think all the groups did a great job and should that every student this their research.

       In this group project we each had to pick a controversial topic and dive into what it is and how it's affecting us and the world. Each group did an exceptional job at providing information and teaching the class about issues that are very common right now.       Firstly, Group 3 started the presentation with their topic of climate change. I was a part of this group and was glad to have this topic.
