Group Topic’s 1,000-word Essay

Throughout these last few days, 3 groups presented three different presentations on Climate Change, Gender Inequality, and Infrastructure. Individually, these three groups did a great job explaining and introducing these types of real-world situations that we’ve decades faced and still live through them. All three-climate change, gender inequality and infrastructure are very important things to discuss about in our today’s world society. Not many people in today’s world are even in the slightest bit are educated on these important topics and its very important to open up these conversations so that people can open up their minds about these problems people face in today’s day.

Group 3: The Consequences on the Climate Change

This was the group I was in. My group did a great job by each and individually explaining our parts and our research. In our presentation we explain what climate change is, climate change is the dramatic change in time and temperature that our globe Earth suffers from human consequences. Us humans cause so much damage to the animals, plants and even the air we breathe. Because of us humans, we have endangered a lot of species and even made some become extinct! For example, thanks to us we have made white rhinoceros extinct and gone for good thanks to poachers. (People who hunt/ kill endangered animals illegally.) Thanks to us forest fires happen way more than natural causes and many animals including humans inhale toxins in out lungs because of that. Thanks to us when cars, trucks, motor ran machines let out toxic fumes it heats up our atmosphere and causes temperatures to rise and damage the ecosystem. Thanks to us when our boats leak and spill oil in the ocean it kills thousands of fish and ocean living creatures die from our actions. Many people don’t believe in climate change since they’re ignorant and don’t believe in science. Its important to spread this awareness because our earth is dying in our hands, and it is our faults and damages that animals are dying, and plants are dying as well. Thanks to politicians, celebrities, and big social media influencers when they open up and talk about these problems, they help us spread awareness to global warming. Many celebrities and famous social media influencers also help out by creating organizations and foundations to get people to help and support this cause and try to create some type of change and help stop the extinction of animals, help get better air and to stop polluting our earth.

Group 2: The Problems of Gender Inequality

In group 2 they explain what gender inequality is, a spectrum on how men and women aren’t treated equally. This group did a good job explaining how even after decades of fighting it, we still suffer from gender inequality. As in terms of paying, men get paid more for jobs that men and women have. Women have been treated unequal for decades and decades by privileged men who think they’re superior to us. For many years men have had the rights to vote way before us and the rights to have jobs and even wear pants! Its important for the women in this country to never experience these types of inferior situations because in today’s world everyone is quote on quote “equal” when in reality it really isn’t. Another situation in which people face gender inequality is members of the LGBTQ community. Gay men happen to be bashed by straight men a lot in the real world because they’re not “manly” or “you act like women”. Gay men are real men point blank period and do not deserve to be harassed by misogynist men. Another member of the LGBTQ community that faces a lot of discrimination would be the transgender community. In the transgender community you face a lot of challenged when it comes to the public and in the medical world. Tans people can face discrimination twice as worse than regular gays and lesbians mainly because they just simply change genders. In the medical field it shouldn’t be right for doctors and nurses to refuse service for those who are trans and it isn’t right for trans to not have the right to which bathroom they prefer to use because people can’t accept the fact that they’re different. It’s wrong for the world to be ruled by misogynistic minded men that feel superior towards women and the LGBTQ community. It not only that it isn’t fair but it’s important to remind ourselves to humble each other and that we are all equal.

Group 1: Focusing on Infrastructure

In group 3, they were able to speak about infrastructure. Infrastructure means a way a system or organization is built. For example, the government is a very important infrastructure of our country. Before listening to this project, I was very uneducated on this situation because I was never really awoken by the idea on how things in this country are processed. They mostly talked about how we can heavily rely on transportation and technology in the country and how Miami in the huge city we live in actually does that. Thanks to our scientists and engineers, our society has gone the very long way with transportation and technology and even in the medical field you can see the drastic changes that’s been happening in our world for centuries and centuries.

In conclusion to this essay, I would like to say that everyone did a great job with these 3 presentations. Everything was well worded, well put, and spot on. I wasn’t confused by a single thing and understood every assignment. I wish there was a way where we can publicly put these PowerPoints out in public that way it can open up minds and open up mouths to talk about these situations and maybe get the politicians to do something about it. Sadly, people will still not understand, but it is most definitely important to try.
